About the National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM)
The National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM) was established under the National Institute of Plantation Management Act No. 45 of 1979, which was subsequently amended by Act No. 76 of 1981, Act No. 05 of 1987, and Act No. 38 of 2003, with the objective of strengthening NIPM as an effective and viable statutory body of the Government.
NIPM is the only organization empowered to award certificates to those who successfully complete its training programmes and academic courses, as well as to confer Professional Membership to eligible plantation executives under three major categories. The institute ensures the maintenance of high standards of professional competence among personnel engaged in the Plantation Industry, including the Small Holding Sector.
In pursuit of these objectives, NIPM conducts a wide range of seminars, workshops, and examinations, while also providing research and consultancy services to both public and private sector organizations. These services are extended to foreign students as well.
