through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

A nationally recognized certification system to formally acknowledge your skills is now being implemented by the National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM). This initiative is none other than the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certification programme.

Age Limit
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 — Minimum age 18 years
- NVQ Level 4 — Minimum age 21 years
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
For NVQ Level 2 & 3
- Minimum 1.5 years of relevant work experience
- Grama Niladhari certificate with DS attestation
- Service certificate or business registration certificate
For NVQ Level 4
- 2 years experience after NVQ Level 3 OR
- 3 years experience after NVQ Level 2 OR
- 4 years of direct formal or informal work experience
- Proof documents such as EPF records, business registration or GN certification
How to Register for the NVQ – RPL Assessment
- Complete the RPL application form.
- Attach certified copies of service certificates, NIC and bank deposit receipt.

Fees & Payments
Registration Fee: LKR 1,500 per occupation
Assessment Fees
- Assessment Fee: LKR 11,500 (groups above 10 participants)
- Urgent Assessment Fee: LKR 34,500 per participant
- Cost of raw materials must be borne by the applicant

Conduct of the NVQ – RPL Assessment
- Applicants will attend a pre-assessment.
- Selected candidates proceed to final competency assessment.
- Successful candidates will be awarded the NVQ certificate.
